It Doesn't Get Better Than This

For more than fifty years, Jeff Rimer has had a front-row seat to professional sports, witnessing unforgettable moments, legendary athletes, and the evolution of the National Hockey League from behind the microphone. From his early broadcasting days covering the Montreal Canadiens, Montreal Expos, and Baltimore Orioles to becoming the longtime television voice of the Washington Capitals, Florida Panthers, and Columbus Blue Jackets, Rimer built a career defined by passion, preparation, authenticity, and an unmistakable love for the game.

But the greatest stories weren't always the ones fans heard during the broadcast.

In It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This, Rimer invites readers behind the scenes of a remarkable career, sharing unforgettable encounters with hockey's biggest personalities, the friendships forged over decades, and the unexpected moments that shaped both his professional and personal life. With warmth, humor, and remarkable honesty, he reflects on the triumphs, disappointments, sacrifices, and life lessons that accompanied a lifetime spent in one of sports' most demanding professions.

More than a collection of hockey stories, this is a memoir about resilience, family, perseverance, and finding purpose through a career built on passion. Whether recounting unforgettable nights at the arena, moments of laughter behind the scenes, or the personal experiences that changed him forever, Rimer reminds readers that life's greatest victories are often measured far beyond the final score.
